Help translate GPS Log!

Hi All,

Do you speak a non-english language? Would you like GPS Log in that language (or help improve the translation in that language)? You can help!

The process is easy, basically you get a bunch of strings, which you then translate. I can even send you pre-release testing builds of GPS Log so that you can verify the translation and the context.

Your efforts won't go unseen either - you will be credited on the 'Settings' page of GPS Log (under where it says "GPS Log was created by William Denniss", it will say, in your language: "<language> translation by <name>"). I will also change your title on the forums to 'GPS Translator'.

GPS Log is currently available in the following languages:
- English (primary) *
- Japanese *
- Chinese
- German
- French

* = localities where the iTunes presence is also localised


So please get in touch if you want to help out! You can reply to this thread, or email me through the forum. I will then give you access to the special Translators forum. Even if the translation for your language exists, you are welcome to participate in the translators forum to verify/correct the translations for your locale, and step in if the original translator goes away.

One downside: i am not a programmer, you shuld be very detailed with instructions.

Hi.
Just sent you translation for Russian.

About Hebrew, there might me a problem because Iphone need to support Hebrew fonts and right to left writing and display.

Please advise...

Thanks for doing the Russian translation, it's most appreciated.

You're right! The iPhone doesn't appear to support Hebrew. GPS Log itself is capable of storing Hebrew text - but like you said, the iPhone needs the input support.

So leave that for now - if Apple ever does add such support you would be welcome to translate it

I can do traditional chinese translation if you need. It looks quite different from the chinese mainly used in China i.e: the number of strokes differs.

Hello.
I can help translating into Japanese.
Now,I am using a free version.
New functions(Advanced settings,etc...) are not Japanese,and it is not easy to use it.
And part of other function is not good Japanese.
I like "GPS Log",and I want to use it for a long time.
I want to cooperate to make it to more wieldy.

Your translation help would be most appreciated. If you would like to get started, visit this thread, copy and paste the translation into your reply. The strings appear like this:

"English" = "Japanese"

Anything missing the Japanese translation if you could add that would be great, and if you want to correct any existing ones that would be good too.

Because, if a long sentence is a narrow space (eg, button) when placed, there are ready to correct them.
I am sure that we look at the GPS Log Lite, but I'm not perfect.
